flight to Tenerife at the best price.
I can remember when I used to
live in Britain and holiday in Tenerife, how I would spend hours on the phone
shopping around for the best price for a flight for myself and family.
When choosing a flight you do
need to consider how you will get to the airport and back home again after your
return flight. The time of day you fly could make quite a difference to
this.
The flight to Tenerife will
take about 4 hours. You will need to be at your UK airport 2 hours before
the flight for security. Most flights fly to Tenerife South Airport
but a few do go to Tenerife North. You will need to allow 30 minutes
to an hour between your flight landing and you ready to leave with your
cases. From the South Airport taxis take 10 minutes to Los
Cristianos and about 15 to Las Americas. If you are using your hire car it
will take you slightly longer! Fares are cheap, 20€ to Los Cristianos
and a bit more to Las Americas.
If your flight takes you to
the North Airport, things are a bit more complicated. Taxis will bring you
to the south coast resorts but the cost will be over €150. There are
buses that are cheap and reliable but if you have suitcases and kids this is not
the option for you. A hire car is your best bet.
For your return flight the
check-in is also 2 hours. Your airline will have advised you to
check the return flight departure time t the day before you
fly. Don't forget to allow time for the journey to the
airport. Most hotels will arrange a taxi to connect with the check-in time
for your return flight. The departure lounge at Tenerife south is quite
comfortable. There are plenty of seats. There are places to eat
while you wait for your flight and many opportunities to shop. Screens
keep you updated on when your flight gate is open.
You need to take all of this
into account when deciding on your flight. Does your party consist
of just adults or are children flying as well? If your party is just
adults then a night flight may suit you. Night flights are normally
cheaper than day time flights. However, when my children were young I
found out, the hard way, how tired young children can get. I also learnt
how ratty, tired children could make me.
