A Drink and a Bite Once the sun goes down on the day I like a quick shower, a rest and then I'm ready for the evening. If your taste is for the high life then Las Americas, and Veronicas in particular, has all you want. Tenerife's most exciting night clubs are here and across the road at Pleasure Island and Starcos. Any of the local Tenerife cabs will speed you there, and bring you back later. I prefer a slower pace. There are many restaurants locally. There are also three of the best local bars on Tenerife within walking distance.
In the grounds of Castle Harbour you will find the Castle Sports & Steak Cafe. The only multi flat screen sports and steak cafe in Los Cristianos, Tenerife. All major sporting events are shown on the multi-screen plasma TV system. They show all major Premiership matches including 3 pm Saturday kick offs. All British Football and Rugby internationals and Formula 1 races. Happy Hour is from 6 pm to 7.30. Outside the terrace overlooks the pool and has a separate TV and table service. You can also have a drink or a steak. You cannot help but notice The Heights rising up the hillside just above Castle Harbour. The best part of this complex is next to the pool. Clouds Pool Bar is open to all. Cross the road from the back entrance to Castle Harbour and make your way up the road to Clouds where a friendly welcome awaits.English owned and staffed,
Clouds has really good sun right until sunset.
Fortunately, tables are provided with sun umbrellas but if you want to
soak up the sun no one minds if you move the chairs. John Smiths bitter and Fosters
are on offer on draught as well as Tenerife’s own Dorada.
Wines are available by the glass and you can take your pick from a large
selection of sprits. English Breakfast is served until 1pm (in case you get up
late) with other bar snacks and meals. My
favourite is Sunday lunch, excellent value for money from 1pm every Sunday. My daughter loves singing, and I am frequently engaged of an evening escorting her to Shakespeare’s so that she can karaoke. She tempts me with the promise of a pint or two (with me paying of course). It’s always a good crowd and the karaoke machine is one of the best on Tenerife. Hosting is excellent with the occasional song or duet thrown in.English owned and staffed, Shakespeare’s has a really friendly welcome for you. This is very much a family pub. There is a TV screen but it is at the back by the dartboard and does not dominate. There are tables both inside and out . The best buy for beer is the Dorada, brewed in Tenerife, but a good range of beers are here as well. Wines, sprits, soft drinks, tea and coffee are of course also available. Meals and bar snacks are served during the day The English Breakfast is excellent and they do a cracking Sunday lunch. By day Shakespeare’s has a pleasant relaxing feel where you can enjoy a quick meal and a drink in the sun or shade. By night entertainment is karaoke most nights from 9 until 12. Some nights you will find cabaret and quizzes. These are advertised in the bar on a weekly basis. You will find Shakespeares out the back of Castle Harbour and down the hill just past the supermarket. |
